Clockwise: The Music of Cedar Walton - Release Countdown Day 8, Trombone Section: Scott Crump

8 days left until Clockwise: The Music of Cedar Walton is available everywhere.

Scott Crump is one of the finest trombone players on the front range. He has been a member of many bands in the Air Force that include: USAF Band of Mid-America, USAF Europe Band, and USAF Academy where he played in both the concert band and Falconaires. Scott has performed with a variety of artists including Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Crystal Gayle, Ricochet, Chris Potter, Ernie Watts, Dave Stahl, Roger Pemberton, Bobby Shew, The New York Voices and Carl Fontana. His decorations include the Air Force Commendation medal with three devices and the Air Force Acheivement medal with six devices.

While my session was the first time I have ever played with Scott (more to come!), I got to know him shortly after I moved to Colorado (meeting him through other members of the Falconaires). Scott can frequently be found playing in big bands all along the front range. For those of you who purchase charts published by Kendor, Scott often plays those recording sessions. He was an easy choice for my band. He gets around the horn quite well (check out the melody on ˆCedar's Blues") has solid intonation and is a great lead player.

Clockwise: The Music of Cedar Walton available everywhere February 17.
